A thought for the Nine Days

Camp Gan Izzy makes me smile

BH
Once again Chabad WA has organized an amazing holiday program for the kids of Perth.
Rebetzin White together with 7 other girls have produced an amazing program.
Every day parents and campers were greeted by Nikki Leib with a smile. Due to her great preparation and organization the kids had a packed day full of fun.
The theme of the camp was Yosef Mokir Shabbat, which is a story about Yosef who honored the shabbat in a very special way and was rewarded by Hashem. The kids made a puppet show for the story. For this Andy Nurik was engaged to show and teach the children the art of puppet making.
apart from the great art and crafts, the kids were exposed to lots of fun games and activities. The favorite Gym Bus and even a puppet show from Constable Care. Jumping castles and much more.
Thank you for all those donors that gave sponsorship for the children in need. Thank you Sandra for making such great food for the kids.
Can't wait till next holidays for the Summer Gan Izzy!!!

Shabbat Parshat Matot-Massei

Bh
There were very special guests for shabbos, Rabbi and Rebetzin Feldman, Chabad of NSW.
Rabbi Feldman spoke on Friday night about the suffering of the Jewish people throughout history and its relationship with the "Chosen" notion. Explaining the name of the month being Menachem Av, to comfort the father, meaning that we comfort our father. The question being are we not the suffering nation and shouldn't we be the ones being comforted? Rather we say the opposite we will be comforted by achievements of our toil. For example, having children and making a family demands great toil and hardship, we experience great pains but the achievements are the comfort. Hashem puts us in situations to see our deeds and receive comfort from our efforts. Even though we have difficult circumstances we endeavor to move forward.
The community were given a real treat when Rabbi Feldman davened. Someone mentioned that if we had of closed our eyes and just listened, we could picture ourselves in a huge synagogue with authentic fittings and architecture.
The community lunch was amazing. Lots of thanks to Sandra who toiled very much to make such magnificent feast. Thank you also to Noga and Michal for making salads. The linch was sponsored by the Yitzchaki family, Guth family and Rosner family.
In the late afternoon the ladies were treated to a shiur by Rebetzin Feldman on the Rebbe's Kapital.
Looking forward to the next communal lunch in four weeks!
